18-hole semi-private facility designed by Steve Durkee; opened in 2001 originally as Okemo Valley Golf Club; consistently ranked as one of the top public clubs in Vermont.

Oversee all golf course, grounds, and building maintenance, including capital improvements across all Fox Run
properties. Manage $950,000 golf course maintenance and $150,000 landscape and snow removal budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility through strategic purchasing negotiations with vendors. Consistently collaborate with owner and golf professional to maintain effective communication and deliver exceptional guest experiences daily.

– Utilize sustainable agronomic program to maintain smooth, healthy, and firm playing surfaces

– Built H2B visa work crew from the ground up to satisfy labor needs in 2021; retained employees for past
   3 years by utilizing strong Spanish skills and building a team environment founded on mutual respect

– Completed $750,000+ in capital improvement projects, including bunker sand replacement, 18th hole   
   renovation, irrigation improvements, and removal of 150 trees in-house

– Executed 600-acre forest management plan, alongside contractors, to receive state tax benefits on additionally
   owned property formerly serving as a golf course

– Restored 40 acres of native fescue areas, eradicating invasive weeds

– Follow strict rules and regulations regarding fertilizer and chemical applications in compliance with the

BRATTLEBORO COUNTRY CLUB, GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
BRATTLEBORO, VT, 2020 – 2021

200-acre 18-hole semi-private golf club established in 1914 originally designed by Tom McNamara and redesigned in 1930 by Wayne Stiles; additional 9 holes built by Steve Durkee in 1999.

Developed sustainable agronomic plan with goal of providing exceptional golf conditions under budget limitations, and utilized newest sensor, testing, and monitoring technologies to better manage playing surfaces and environmental/economic resources. Implemented creative scheduling techniques to maximize team efficiency.

– Initiated forest management project aimed at rehabilitating 37 acres of Deer Wintering Area (DWA) while
   using funds from timber sales to complete key golf course tree removals; collaborated with forester, logging
   sub-contractors, Vermont Act 250 Board, and VT Fish and Wildlife

– Completed full evaluation and cost of ownership analysis of maintenance equipment; advised on new
   purchases, simplifying fleet and maintenance costs while improving course conditions

– Mentored team members, including helping secure funds for high-performing employee to attend UMass
   Turf School, giving employees opportunities to personally succeed while becoming valued assets to the
   maintenance team

 

PELHAM COUNTRY CLUB, SENIOR ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
PELHAM, NY, 2017 – 2020

Private club located in southern Westchester County just north of NYC, featuring 18-hole golf course originally designed by Devereux Emmet in 1908; host to 1923 PGA Championship described by many as one of the most dramatic finishes in history with Gene Sarazen sinking one of the greatest shots ever on the 38th hole of his match with Walter Hagen.

Efficiently managed daily planning, crew assignments, and payroll. Hired, supervised, and developed staff
of 18 greenkeepers following 32BJ Union Contract. Communicated with all staff, members, vendors, and
sub-contractors throughout golf course, always ensuring high-quality maintenance and attention to detail

– Maintained impressive high-level course conditioning, including fast and firm playing surfaces daily
   throughout golf season

– Managed and implemented master plan developed by Devries Golf Design, including 6-hole full renovation,
   new irrigation pond construction, fairway re-grassing, HOPE irrigation installation, USGA green and tee   
   construction, fairway re-shaping, and flood mitigation through wetland construction among a full change in
   layout/design

 

MARTIS CAMP GOLF CLUB, SENIOR ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
TRUCKEE, CA, 2014 – 2017

2,177-acre private, luxury community, featuring 600+ homes located between Truckee, CA and Lake Tahoe; includes 18-hole Tom Fazio golf course, 18-hole putting park, featuring +1-acre of bentgrass greens, soccer field, 5 community parks with extensive turf areas, 2 concert greens, large fishing lake, 6 water features/creeks, and 20+ miles of community hiking trails; host to 2011 Pacific Coast Amateur Championship and 2013 USGA Boys Junior Championship.

Monitored expansive property, ensuring all amenities, water features, and pump stations were operating properly. Maintained high-level of aesthetic conditioning during historic drought including mandatory water restrictions. Oversaw extensive winter preparation, making sure all property was protected during long winters. Served as department safety officer, providing a safe and compliant work environment.

– Managed projects such as yearly installation of 3,500+ snow poles, redecking of property bridges,
   conducting road maintenance, and completing other development infrastructure maintenance needs

– Led renovation projects such as tree removal, bunker construction, and greens renovation under guidance
   of Tom Fazio Golf Design

– Assisted in managing winter operations of grooming X-Country Ski/ Nordic Trails, sledding hill, and
   large-scale snow removal operations.

– Assisted with water quality testing and data collection throughout all environmentally sensitive waterways
   and property wells

 

THE COUNTRY CLUB, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT-IN-TRAINING
BROOKLINE, MA, 2011 – 2014

One of the largest clubs in the Northeast; designed by Willie Campbell, William S. Flynn, and Geoffrey S. Cornish, featuring 27 holes of golf, indoor/outdoor tennis, curling, croquet, ice skating, and skeet shooting; host to numerous USGA professional and amateur events, including the 1999 Ryder Cup and 2013 Men’s US Amateur as well as many state and local championships.

Managed safe and proper application of all pesticides and fertilizers throughout property. Maintained inventory
of all products.

– Played major role in in-house implementation of Gil Hanse Master Plan, including a full bunker restoration,
   addition of several tee boxes, fairway re-alignment, and HDPE irrigation installation

– Served as key crew member throughout 2013 US Amateur working with USGA on course set-up and watering
   techniques, creating firm, fast conditions leading up to and through the event

– Assisted in large tree removal and restoration program
